Indoor Swimming Pool, Part 2

on Friday, March 21, 2008

We have been living in a hotel since March 11th. It's been fun and miserable all at the same time. The indoor pool rocks! There's a hot tub too! Wheee!

Lexa likes to swim, and a couple of days ago her cousins came over and she LOVED watching them act crazy and play in the pool. I'm glad she's not scared of the water.

And when the swimming is over she is wore out and goes straight to sleep. Another good thing about the hotel is the wicked good breakfast buffet. We are spoiled now.

5 Year's In Iraq

on Thursday, March 20, 2008

So we've been in Iraq for 5 years now. In April 2003 a good friend of mine was killed in Iraq. I took this very personally and then just 6 months later I got orders to Iraq. A very long journey to the end to say the least. Is America tired of the war? Yes. No one in their right mind wants to be at war for 5 seconds let alone 5 years. But it's necessary - and I'm behind our Commander In Chief.

Jessica Simpson Visits Kuwait

on Wednesday, March 12, 2008

"Jessica Simpson may be a high-wattage celebrity used to the finer things in life – private jets, first-class accommodations, and large entourages – but her rep is slamming reports that the singer-actress is enjoying such amenities while visiting U.S. troops in Kuwait. "

But it's fun Mom....

It really disturbs me that Lexa loves to play in Loki's carrier so much, but I let her have a little fun. She loves to crawl in there and sit on his pillow and close the door. It must feel really cozy for her. I don't like her to do it because I don't clean his carrier as much as I should or give him a bath as much as I should, so I know it is filthy in there.

Indoor Swimming Pool

The pictures speak for themselves. But here's the full story. We went to bed at 10:30 and Lance woke up at 11:30 to the sound of running water. After stepping into water in the bathroom floor and realizing it wasn't the toilet running over, he sprinted through the wet floors of the kitchen and garage to turn off the water. We realized quickly that the master bedroom, bathroom, closet, kitchen, laundry room and dining room had standing water. We mopped and mopped and soaked up all we could. The Culprit was a faulty shower fixture.

Baby in a Box

Lexa has so much fun coloring her big box. She climbs in and dumps the crayons and will play for up to an hour. Big Fun!

Notice all the other toys around that she doesn't even care about. :)

We got this box from a sink that Lance got installed in the Jack and Jill bathroom. It's beautiful - but I think Lexa likes the box it came in better for now.
