New Carpet! YAY!

on Tuesday, December 15, 2009

We took forever to decide if we were going to do carpet or hardwood on the stairs. Then after meeting with an interior designer I decided carpet was the way to go. Then I had to decide on the carpet. And Viola! Here it is! I love it and I think it goes very well with the kitchen and the rest of the house.

Wisteria

on Friday, April 24, 2009

I took this picture last night before the Jane Magnolia but for some reason it didn't make it to the blog. We got a start of this off my aunt's. Some wisterias for one reason or another don't bloom well. We know this variety does because it was in full effect ay my aunts house when we swiped some of the seed pods. I'm looking forward to a more mature plant in the years to come - it will be beautiful. Lance built an amazing walk-through arbor for it to climb on.

Other Bedroom Furniture

on Tuesday, March 3, 2009

Ok. We have the nightstands, but not the bed yet. The dresser and nightstands were in stock and were delivered last week. But they told us the bed would have to be ordered and would take 4-6 weeks. I can't wait!

Sort of related is that I won an hour of an interior decorators time in a silent auction the weekend before last. I am so excited about this because I have dreamed of having someone who is professionally trained to come into my house and help me put on some finishing touches. I've got the basic color palette of the house down and I am very happy with it. I just need some help with accents and accessories!

The Old Color

on Sunday, February 15, 2009

The razorback red got covered up with a soothing sage green.

New Bedding

Master bedroom Makeover

We painted our bedroom yesterday green. We had a very dark red before and although I loved the color I did not love it in my bedroom. This color green coordinates very well with the sage colors in our bathroom. I also picked up some bedding with curtains for the bedroom.

1st Tooth, Frozen Trees & Free Dr. Pepper

on Wednesday, January 28, 2009

This little guy isn't even 4 months old yet and he has his first tooth! Amazing! You can see it in this picture pretty well, and the one next to it is coming in too. He is such a trooper because I couldn't even tell that his gums were bothering him and I just noticed the little chicklet in there Monday night! This is very early for a first tooth; between 4 to 7 months is the norm. (He did not like me taking this picture and i felt like a bad mommy after I blinded him with the flash. Yeah, memories!!...)

I thought this was a really cool picture of the trees behind our house. We got hit by a really nasty ice storm that began Monday afternoon. When i was driving home around 1pm I saw a lot of slipping and sliding and cars off the road. Very scary. I've been home ever since. I have more pictures I plan on posting later. Our power was out yesterday from about 10:30am to 8:30pm. A lot of cities around here are still out of power. The city i work in is still out, and not expected to be back in until Saturday. Wow! There was a fatal accident Monday afternoon here in town also.

Click the can for the link to get your free Diet Dr. Pepper coupon! Awesome! I found this on http://www.slickdeals.net/ ; that's where I find all the good ones!!!

Front Door

on Saturday, January 17, 2009

We upped our curb appeal today and we don't even have any curbs! We got a good deal on a new front door and went for it. Our old door was a plain fiberglas door that we attempted to stain and it turned out just awful, so we ended up just painting it to cover up the poor staining. We were never quite happy with it but it wasn't bad enough that we couldn't live with it. That something you have to deal with occasionally when you build your own house. We always thought that a front door could easily be replaced later, and would give us time to shop around and find something we really liked. Like this one! It let's in a lot of light and it is a beautiful mahogany color with the arched glass that goes well with all the othe arches in our house.

It is really cold out there!

on Thursday, January 15, 2009

It is 11 degrees outside.
This is a picture of our front yard from the porch.

April 2008 - Part 1

on Wednesday, April 9, 2008

My BIL, Willie, shot this coyote in his back yard. I think this picture is gross and hilarious all at the same time! Thanks for sending it!

Well, remember back when we had a redneck fest and put our floors down, here they are all ripped up, after this they scraped all the glue and put down new floors.
And how cute is this picture of Lexa giving her Daddy a hug!?
Here's Lexa helping us unpack. She had a wonderful time playing with Amanda and the bubbles. Although I'm not sure who had more fun, Amanda or Lexa...

BFH. Big Freaking Hail!

Here's Grandma and the little Angel!

Lexa got dressed up in her Space Astronaut PJ's and pulled her leggos out to play with Daddy! If that didn't wrap him around her little finger - nothing will!!!

CUTE Videos! Watch them all!

And we are a week away from the 10th Annual PBC float trip! I'm looking forward to the good times, good scenery, good food, and the best company a person could want!!!
I'll be sleeping in for the cure this year!!! Join the team I'm on if you would like to sleep in too!!!
