It's a brand new day

on Friday, February 1, 2008

I have to let everyone in blog land know that I have been totally not in the mood to blog for the past few months. Just the thought of spending the time to post something made me want to turn off the computer. I think I've been slightly depressed to be honest. Don't get all twisted - I'm doing great and love my life - I just lost someone very very close to me in November and the Holidays were mildly bareable. That and a good dose of the winter blahs and I just don't feel like spreading good cheer with my blog? I hope everyone understands - but if you don't - too bad.

So this post is going to catch everyone up on my life for the past three months!!! Let's rewind to early November. Lance and I went to a fancy shmancy dinner benefit in Rogers for the Circle of Life Hospice. It is a great cause - both of my maternal grandparents used their services and it just makes the family and the loved one feel better about the ending of life.

I hope we go again next year; I promise I won't drink too much wine.

Hmmm, what happened next. I think I might have to back up a little more and post a Halloween picture of Lexa. She was a cute sunflower! We also got a professional picture at Bedford and it turned out great!!! I've had to check my calender to see what all happened in November and I just remembered that we bought a house for my Mom. It's not much but it brings her back to Arkansas and I LOVE that! We painted some of the rooms inside and did a little fixing up - with more to continue when the weather warms up a little more. November was a very busy, sad, trying month. I lost some one so very close to me and I'm still having a difficult time dealing with it. NEshmoo, lets get to December. Cyndy's Birthday!!! Happy Birthday Girl!!! Love ya LOTS!!! Christmas parties and family get togethers!!! Lexa finally figures our how to tear the wrapping paper off the boxes! And she's been growing so fast!!! This picture is of us at Lance's work Christmas Party. It's always a good time - but watch out for Steve's cat when you go over there - it literally tried to claw a woman's eyes out!!! Oh and for Christmas I got Lance a Dewalt Power Tool (can't go wrong there) and he got me a digital picture frame!!! It rocks! I love it! Lexa got clothes and puzzels and some toys. That girl loves books!!! She is perfectly happy when someone is reading her a book and sometimes she will just sit in the floor with a little stack of books and flip through the pages - it is the cutest thing. (must get a picture of that for you to see) Also during December, Lance finished the fireplace mantel! It is beautiful!!! Oh, gosh, I must back up and let everyone know that our good friends Josh and Melanie had a baby on November 29th! They live in Texas so we haven't seen her yet, but we are planning a trip to see them sometime this year.

What a doll!!!

There were a lot of baby announcements in December!!! I guess Valentines Day 2007 was especially nice for many. :) My lovely friend Laura Saunders had a baby - and I must apologize because I can't remember any of the details.

Ok, January. Wow. There is nothing interesting on my calender for January. I will say that Lexa Starting walking between Christmas and New Year's Day and has been getting into every freaking thing since! And yesterday we had a full on snow day and I got some great pictures of that. We got almost 5 inches!!! WOW!!!

SMACK!!!

It's December now and I finally have my Christmas tree up and have decorated the house. The family gathering is going to be at my house this year so I'm really excited about cooking and getting things ready. We now have a mantel on the fireplace!!! Pictures coming soon...

And as some of you know, my Mom is moving from Heavener, Oklahoma (cough...podunk...cough) to Bentonville, Arkansas this month! I am really really excited about that! We have been working on her house - painting, replacing old stuff, fixing things...

Oh, and I totally won 4 tickets to see The Christmas Carol at Theatre Squared in Fayetteville! from http://www.allsidesoflife.com/ . It's a website for family friendly activities in NWA.

Thanksgiving

on Thursday, November 22, 2007

I'm thankful for all my family - even the nutty ones - you know who you are! I'm also thankful for God allowing me to have had such a great Uncle. I know he's in a better place now and he's dancing with his Mom and Dad.
We will miss you Reggie. I'll see you again someday. In the midst of grief life does go on, so back to work and the routine. It's still difficult because I keep waiting for the phone to ring and hear Reggie on the other end.

Veteran's Day

on Monday, November 12, 2007

Veterans Day is always a special day for me.
It reminds me of my family members who have served in the military, it reminds me of friends that I have served in the military with. And most of all it reminds me of friends lost to combat.
I love my country and I am proud to serve.
