Wintery Mix

on Thursday, November 30, 2006

We put up our Christmas tree the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

Well, today I would say is the first day of winter in my book... err... my blog. We have a wintery mix, which means I guess icey and wet. It looks like sleet to me. It's pretty, but very cold outside and a little too icey to be driving. Lance said he saw lots of fender benders on the way home today...

First Bath

on Wednesday, November 15, 2006

Lexa loved her first bath! At first the water kinda scared her a little, but after she was put in she calmed right down and loved me dripping the warm water all over her. I think it reminded her of being in my warm tummy. She lost her umbilical cord stub just yesterday and I couldn't wait to give her her first real bath!!!

We are working hard to get her on a schedule. We are trying to feed her every three hours and play with her for a little while and then trying to get her to take a little nap after the playtime. The book I'm reading "Baby Wise" recommends this kind of schedule and it also recommends putting the baby to bed while still awake and with out any "props" (i.e. pacifier, rocking...) I think this is the most difficult part. We are still working on the schedule though, if it works then after a while she will go to sleep easier and this habit should last through her childhood if we stay consistent. Sounds like a dream, but right now its a lot of crying... :(

Baby Lexa is Here!!!!

6:18 AM October 27th, 2006 ~ 7 lbs 8 ozs ~ 20 3/4 inches
Wow!!! Let's begin this crazy story of how she finally arrived! My water broke on the 26th at 12:30pm. I drove myself to pick up my husband where he works, contractions and all... yeah. Then we went to the hospital to check in and got hooked up on the epidural after a couple of hours. I was in labor for 18 hours and pushed HARD for an hour before the Doctor let me know that the baby was not moving past the pelvic bone, and we had to do a C-Section. I was not happy about this - I really really wanted to do the regular way even if it was with the epidural. I wasn't so much nervous about the surgery - just really hung up on doing it as "natural" as possible. But now, I don't care. The C-Section went fine, Lance was in there with me and got to carry the baby to the nursery. I'm sure he was just bursting with pride walking down that hallway with that bundle of love!!!

Cute Baby Room Pictures! Can't Wait till she's here!!!

Tile for the Jack and Jill Bathroom is almost complete. Just a few more pieces and then we grout. It will be nice to have a shower for our house guests finally!

Dining Room with the china cabinet with all the china and crystal unpacked and put away. Finally!

Red Master Bedroom. Still some decorating to do...

That's the house. We are slowly getting it done, one door and one tile at a time! It's looking great to us and everyday it feels more and more like home!
